About Me

For most of his life, Canadian artist Kevin Green has been trying to see just beyond… Like the prairie horizon of his upbringing, where things exist just out of reach, out of sight… His drawings and paintings reflect this… what he sees, and knows he sees, but also what he knows he feels. That which can not be seen with the eye, or camera…the reality of what goes on all around us, everyday, felt, but not seen.
Walking a deliberate line between wakefulness and dreamscape, Green’s canvases blur the lines of reality and imagination, carefully blending themes of dark and light, humanism vs. animalism, feminine vs. masculine, immediacy vs. memory. His illustrative style constantly suggests story, but allows the viewer to draw on their own insights to define the emotions and relationships the pieces have to offer….
While not formally trained in art, (except in Technical theatre, in which he is a professional technical director, lighting designer, and live sound engineer) it is a love of many differing styles that have lead his hand to this current works. A constant evolution, the marriage of fine detail, and wanton abandon, allowing  his imagination to fly free….all the while slopping paint all over his living room, in Edmonton, Alberta.
